| The principle of floating construction is widely acknowledged
as the quickest and most efficient method of producing well insulated
floors. Used for both timber and sand/cement screed applications,
it is now frequently employed for the installation of hardwoods
and laminates because it also cushions and isolates the floor finish
from the substrate.
Jumpax utilises the many benefits of a floating system to give
both acoustic and thermal insulation properties to vinyl and
linoleum floors. In addition, the cushioning layer absorbs typical
irregularities in the floor surface to smooth out lumps and bumps,
whilst isolating the whole installation process from the influence
of defects and contamination. In so doing, the necessity of removing
existing coverings, laitance, loose material etc., has been eliminated.
As there is no bonding or fixing to the substrate, the condition
of the surface is far less critical to the success of the job.
By providing a smooth, thin, stable layer, unaffected by the
quality of the base below, Jumpax overcomes many of the problems
associated with installing high specification floor finishes.
